Mushtari Maliha

Mushtari Maliha
I am Maliha (she/her), a PhD candidate and teaching fellow at the Department of Biological Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech, USA.
My research focuses on understanding watershed systems by integrating hydrologic, hydraulic, geomorphic, and geospatial analyses across field, watershed, and landscape scales. I combine detailed field observations with numerical modeling and terrain analysis to investigate how natural processes and human activities interact to shape watershed evolution and influence flood hazards, sediment dynamics, and restoration outcomes.
I am an engineering educator with 7 years of experience teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses at Virginia Tech and BUET. I have formal training in postsecondary pedagogy through Virginia Tech’s CALS Graduate Teaching Scholar program.
Apart from water, I love green. My hobbies are gardening and traveling.
